Bay Jam 23 Features Broadway/Bloodline Star, Free Admission, More
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys— The 23rd annual Bay Jam features Broadway and Bloodline star Norbert Leo Butz, noted singer and actress Schuyler Fisk, along with homegrown Keys favorites like Leah Sutter, David and Nyan Feder, Alan Truesdale’s “Usual Suspects,” and Steve Venini.
Set for Sunday, March 26, at the ICE Amphitheater in Islamorada Founders Park, MM 87, gates open at 11 a.m. and music starts at 12 a.m. Admission is free.
“This year’s Bay Jam features exciting additions including Bloodline star Norbert Leo Butz and his band,” said David Feder, ICE president. “Many people might be surprised to learn that Norbert is a Tony award-winning Broadway singer and performer known for his lead roles in the musicals Rent, Wicked, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Catch Me If You Can. Norbert sings and plays guitar, with his band of world-class stage and session players.
Schuyler Fisk (daughter of actress and Bloodline star Sissy Spacek) grew up in Virginia and performed in several Hollywood movies (she starred in the 1995 Babysitters Club) before turning to music. She will be playing with Virginians Carl Anderson and Sam Wilson. All are accomplished songwriters/ recording artists/ performers.
The New York Times praised Schuyler, saying that her “Virginia roots show through in the loping cadence of her clear, remarkable voice.”
David Feder notes that Bay Jam was created more than two decades ago to provide scholarships to Keys high school students to pursue music, dance, voice or the arts.
The event is a family-friendly day of music and fun in a spectacular setting on the Florida Bay. Concertgoers can enjoy a swim at the bay-front beach just steps away from the ICE Amphitheater stage, check out arts and crafts vendors from all over the country, and sample wide variety of great food and award winning local beer. The Norbert Leo Butz Band’s high-energy performance is a mix of blues, gospel and feel-good music.
Schuyler Fisk with Carl Anderson and Sam Wilson play original singer/songwriter modern Americana music heavy on the harmonies.
Leah Sutter is a Keys singer songwriter with a large following who uniquely melds alternative rock and jazz with a siren’s voice.
Ecology is a Tallahassee-based genre-bending band exploring influences from jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop, R&B, and world music. Featured are the Keys musicians – Nyan Feder, Ryan Raines, and Tyler Lee. David Feder may join the band for a tune or two as a special guest for Bay Jam.
Steve Venini is a Keys-based world class singer/songwriter and his all-star band.
Allan Truesdell & The Usual Suspects is a local Keys Jam band playing American rock and roll.
ICE…cool entertainment is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing quality entertainment and cultural events to Upper Keys residents and has provided more than $380,000 in music and arts grants to local students and school programs to date.

How Students Apply for ICE’s Bay Jam Scholarships
For the Arts Enhancement Grants, any high school student with a desire to learn and explore the arts, dance or music who receives a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor may earn consideration for an ICE scholarship.
Students can download the scholarship application at www.keysice.com or contact their art or music teachers for more information. All Upper Keys high school students are eligible to apply, including home-schooled students.
